Never run out of memory again? SanDisk’s new range of SDHC memory cards for digital cameras gives users a whole new playing field on storage. However, the Ultra series of SHDC memory cards goes a step ahead to provide advance photographers with what they really need – speed.
The Ultra SDHC memory cards for digital cameras comes with minimum sustained write speed of 9MB/s and an even faster read speed at 15 MB/s. Compared to the standard SDHC card, the Ultra series is up to 10 times faster in speed.
For serious photography lovers, a camera isn’t just about resolution and colours. It’s also about special features like high speed photography and multi-burst shots. Rapid actions like that on your camera requires the data to be written fast enough to your memory. If your memory card cannot support such high write speeds, then these functions will not work. Functionalities aside, a high transfer speed also shortens the time it takes to download your pictures into your computer.
However, memory cards for digital cameras with high write speeds do not come cheap. Luckily, the Ultra is fast enough to offer you the full range of functionalities on your camera, and at the same time, it doesn’t cost as much as high end of fast speed cards such as the Extreme series.
The Ultra, like other SD memory cards, comes in standard sizes, 32 x 24 x 2.1 mm. Most cameras using the standard SD memory card reader will be able to use this card. However, it is recommended that you use Ultra SDHC cards with cameras that are at least 10 megapixels. Old cameras may not be able to accommodate such high transfer speeds, and you probably don’t need such a good memory card with an old camera.
At prices ranging from US$30 to US$180, The Ultra SDHC memory card is the combination of write speed and affordability. The SanDisk Ultra SDHC memory cards for diigital cameras comes in memory sizes of 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB.
